Since graduating from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a
Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy, I have been working first as an Auditor in a Public Accountant's Firm to
get my pupilage,
And then later in the Commercial Sector as an Accountant in an MNC
Company.
To be honest, I have never liked working in this line. I took this degree
because it was " a safe bet "
During my student days, everyone in Singapore was into what they called the
" Paper Chase "
I.e. The aim of every Asian parent and responsible child was to get a
good University Education,
So that henceforth we would be set for life - having a stable job with
good financial rewards ....
If we didn't do so, we would definitely feel inferior and of low esteem, as our cousins and
friends would all be highly educated, and earning a good income. climbing the corporate ladder.
The aim of everyone was to have what we called the 5 C's ...
Car, Condo ( I.e. Condominiums as Singapore is land scarce ) , Cash, Credit
Card and Country Club.
So there we were ....
Once we graduated, we automatically joined the millions of Asians in what
everyone called
" THE RAT RACE " ...
Waking up very early in the mornings and returning late at nights, slogging
like little cubicle rats in our little cubby hole ... Six days a week, every week , year after year ...
I have always read with cynicism about people who have a mid life change in
careers,
Happily telling everyone how they had the courage to change careers midway
in life,
Giving up lucrative, established careers for their passion, and being
finally happy at what they do.
I took it that it was just an advert, or some person paid to say that
...
Never did I believe that there was such a thing as " a passion for their
job " or
" being finally happy at what you do ." ........
However, sometime in June 2012, I finally took the plunge and quit my job.
It became very depressing and pointless to me, realising that life as I knew it was nothing more that the routine daily
grind of a cubicle at ...
I decided to find something that I would truly love and enjoy, and give my
total dedication to making a success of it.
I have been truly lucky in that I too have found my passion.
I have decided to join the " NEW WAVE " and try my hand at Internet
Marketing ...
From the adverts it seemed so easy and such a godsend to be able to work
from home and yet be able to earn money .
I was rather skeptical when I decided to give it a try, but it has turned
out to be truly the best decision of my life. I am tremendously enjoying what I am now doing.
Homework such as posting on all the Social Marketing Portals like Facebook,
Twitter, Pinterest,
Forums and now the blog is not work at all,but something I truly
enjoy.
I have made wonderful contacts through these associations and liaisons, and
some have even become great friends. You all know who you are ...
We have formed a little network helping each other in little ways, like
sharing our expertise,
knowledge and even helping to promote each other's sites.
Altogether, it has been most fulfilling and enjoyable.
Just knowing that I can do this till I become too old and feeble and addle
of brain is such a great blessing
and I hope that my website will really be successful and attract a high
volume of traffic,
which in turn will lead to a loyal, regular clientele,
This would be the ultimate measure of success for me ....
This is my very first blog, and I hope you have enjoyed reading it. I will be updating this Blog regularly, and I hope you will come back for more ...
To Quote THE TERMINATOR ... " I'LL BE BACK " !!! ...
